Meet Ms. O'Shea, who hails from Co. Tipperary, Ireland. She graduated top of her class at Sacred Heart Presentation Secondary School, after which she pursued a double major in English Language and Literature, Irish Language and Literature, and a minor in mathematics at University College Dublin. She earned the William Henry Curran Scholarship, a scholarship awarded by the National Universities of Ireland. In her second year of college, she received the Irish Language and Literature Scholarship.

After completing her studies, Ms. O'Shea moved to the United States and spent her early years growing up and waitressing. However, her true passion lay in teaching, so she embarked on her teaching career in 1993. She taught in various schools on Manhattan's Lower East Side and the Upper West Side, before settling in Pennsylvania in June 2000. She began her teaching journey in Pennsylvania as a substitute teacher in the Abington and Scranton school districts before securing a position at Riverside in September 2001. While teaching, she earned a Master of Science in Secondary Education degree from Wilkes University and a Program Specialist in English as a Second Language from King's College.

Ms. O'Shea's expertise and passion for teaching were recognized in 2006 when she was named NEIU 19's Teacher of the Year. She also taught Marywood's English Methods course in 2004-2005. Ms. O'Shea feels honored to be a part of the Riverside Community and to make a positive impact on the lives of countless students over the past 22 years.
